Fillings & Crowns
Dental work should be painless - plain and simple.
Dr. Salha has perfected an innovative injection technique to help reduce pain and provide profound local anesthesia during your dental procedure. We use digital scanners to ensure your crown will have an optimal fit with little adjustments to get you in and out of the office quickly.
Composite restorations (white fillings)
Traditional dental restoratives, or fillings, may include gold, porcelain, or composite. Newer dental fillings include ceramic and plastic compounds that mimic the appearance of natural teeth. These compounds, often called composite resins, are typically used and especially where a natural appearance is important.
There are several factors that can impact the performance, durability, longevity and expense of dental fillings such as:
The components used in the filling material
The amount of remaining tooth structure
Where and how the filling is placed
The chewing load that the tooth will bear
The length and number of visits needed to prepare and adjust the restored tooth
Before treatment, Dr. Salha will discuss all of your options and help you choose the best filling for your particular needs.
Dental crowns
Crowns are necessary when there is no longer enough natural tooth structure to adequately protect your tooth. This can happen for many reasons including when your tooth fractured, when you have decay around an existing large filling, you get a root canal, etc. Crowns are typically made out of porcelain and last much longer than fillings.
Crowns are used to…
Fix teeth that have been partially damaged or broken.
Improve tooth shape to allow for better cleansability and esthetics
Used to fix and strengthening broken or worn teeth
Used to rescue teeth with portions affected by tooth decay
Enhance the shade of teeth
Serve as a new outer shell for your teeth
Dr. Salha will always discuss treatment with you and make a custom treatment plan before making any decisions. He will help you decide when a crown is right for you.
